Hunky Dory, 1971
It’s been a ‘lil while since we last posted, not for a lack of news but for a lack of larger content. I’d rather not update with “we were at this really cool bar the other night you should check it out” – I save that for Twitter. In the interest of saving and economy (see, I should be PM of Ireland) I’m wrapping up a few stories into this story.
Changes are afoot. I’d call them new family members, but they’re more like those fun-house mirror versions of someone you already know well (but think looks better in that mirror). Introducing the 375ML and the 1.75L bottles. Aparently America is so hot for these sizes right now, and being the good lackeys owned by American corporate overlords we delivered. 1.75L in unflavoured (at first), 375ML in Kiwi, Passion, and unflavoured.
One of our dearest and most beloved staff members left us at the end of November. Vodka Professor Jacob Briars left to conquer the world. First stop, Ponsonby. Some of our good friends have written reviews of a new bar he’s helping out at – The Golden Dawn (corner Ponsonby Road and Richmond Road (the old Open Late Cafe)) – so I’ll link to their posts. We went along last Wednesday and imbibed several fantastic cocktails. Check out the write ups courtesy of Everyday Drinking and Suite As. (Everyday Drinking also includes the full cocktail menu.)
This website is getting a shakeup too. We’re adding an email signup form, regular news updates via email, and sound (including voiceovers) to the products section. The site itself should seem much faster too as we’ve exported it to a dank cave in Colorado, closer to our fans all around the world.
Finally, there’s a changing of the guard here at 42BELOW HQ in Auckland. Please keep an eye on the Contact Us page for your local rep, sales person, or beggared marketing slave.
Thanks everyone, it’s been a blast!
